The West Texas Collection

The West Texas Collection

All of Fountainville’s flavors reflect the heritage and origin of our families. The chef and his wife are Texas natives and come from generations of Oilfield families. This heritage exposed them to lots of native plants and fruits and nuts, like agave cactus, pecans, mesquite beans, peaches and strawberries and Pecos canteloupe. Remembering Great Grandpa working on the rigs and Grandma , who rode across Texas to Midland in a covered wagon in 1903, makes us feel connected to the community we serve.

Black Gold

Black Gold, a crowd favorite, is combination of honey graham flavor, local honey and food grade activated charcoal. this unique product has tummy cleansing properties and a deep black color, but a surprisingly subtle and honeyed flavor. Of course it is meant to remind you of the local oil production, and the men and women making the energy for our country.

Tumbleweed

A blend of chocolate syrup, caramel, and toasted coconut. Meant to feel like tumbleweeds are dropped into the ice cream, the texture or the coconut, and earthy chocolate and caramel flavors are very similar to the girl scout cookie caramel delight. No real tumbleweeds are used in this ice cream.

Caliche

Tastes much better than those lease roads out in the oilfeilds. Our version has sweet vanilla with marshmallows and marshmallow swirl.

Caliche

Sandstorm

The essence of pralines. Pralines are a very Tex-Mex candy featured in West Texas. The local pecans are from Gardendale and we toast them to bring out the flavor. This deconstructed praline is made by putting in raw brown sugar,(for its sandiness), crushed whoppers for the maltiness, toasted pecans and a ribbon of marshmallow sauce. The combination looks like rubble you’d find on your porch from a sandstorm, but tastes like a praline.

Roasted Peach

Our Roasted Peach is like Grandma's peach cobbler, we slow roast our peaches in cinnamon and brown sugar and mix that in a peachy ice cream.

Hummingbird

Watching Hummingbirds is a favorite West Texan pastime. The lavender flowers go so well with the taste of honey. This one is a top seller and Lavender is a calming herb that is a Texas grown crop. Honey is also a Texas produced staple, fed on local wild flowers, it is not as strong as clover and other honeys. The honey winds thru the pretty purple ice cream in a stream making it as pretty as it is good.

El Chupacabra

The legend of El Chupacabra lives on! Named for the animal of myth in West Texas, this rich and creamy flavor has goat milk, goat caramel called Cajeta, and goat cheese. It has a red ribbon of strawberry sauce and cajeta thru out the lightly cinnamon flavored ice cream. This ice cream is as if sopapilla married cheesecake with strawberry sauce topping. A very Tex-Mex flavor and no one knows its goat milk til we tell them!
